Welcome to my page I hope you learn something about my project.
My project
My project is to attempt to build a mini money box using the equipment available to me at school and some of the techniques that I have learned already.
But Why ?
I would like to have a money box to put all my coins into.
Hi Callum, this looks good so far. Very straightforward. A few ideas and questions for you:
Can you find other examples/pictures of money boxes to give you ideas of what you would like to make?
What materials would you make it out of?
What size would it be?
=
What I have done This week=
I have finalised the sizes for the money box and started to cut correct sizes that I measured out.
what my next steps are
I am planning to finish cutting out the wood using the saw and to start measuring my plastic sides using a ruler.
Reflecting at home ( Week 2)
During class this week I started cutting out my wood and finalizing the correct sizes for the rest of the wood. The skills I used this week where using a ruler to make sure the wood was measured correctly .Also I was using a saw to cut through the thick wood .Next week I will be trying to cut out the rest of the wood and measuring out the plastic. It will hopfully be anouther fun lesson.
Reflecting at home (weeringk 3)
During class this week I finished cutting out my wood and started to plan out how you would get the money out and seeing that if I dont glue the wood together I cant measure out my plastic. The skills I used this week where a saw to finish cutting out the wood. The next time I am in the work shop I hope to acheve glueing my wood together and to finally measure out my plastic after saying I would for the past tow weeks.
Reflecting at home (week4)
during class this week i fitted the work i have been doing together i didnt really do that mutch in class but i did fit together a plan for my project . next week I will try to glue the wood together and measure the plastic.
Reflecting at home (week5)
During class this week I figured out where I am going to get the money out of my money box and where it is going in. I am also drilling the holes into the top and the bottom of my money box. The skills I have used this week are learning how to pick the right drill piece for the job and learning how to keep the wood steady while I am drilling. Next week I hope I can finish off the drilling and make a plug for the bottom.
Reflecting at home (week6)
During class this week I drew round my trianguler money box on to a big peice of plastic then got it cut out and figued out how to get it stuck on. Next week I will try to stick on thr plastic and paint some of the wood.
Reflecting at home (week 7)
During class this week I sanded my plastic to make it fit inside the perimeter of my triangular shaped money box so the plastic would be easyer to stick on. Also during class this week I filed the plastic after I sanded it so it would feel more smooth around the edges of the plastic. Next week in class I plan to make two little strips of wood so that my wee plug that I will make soon won't stick out of the bottem of my money box and make it tip to one side.
Reflecting at home (week8)
Durring class this week I sanded the plug for the bottem and finished the the two legs at the bottem. next week i plan to sick on my plastic and start decorrating it.
